The best new movie trailers and TV show teasers for upcoming streaming titles

Eight teenagers at Galileo Galilei Middle School are on the precipice of adolescence, racking up first-time experiences, opening up to others, and dealing with insecurities. But this all comes to an abrupt end when the school announces that it’s closing. You can catch the first 15 episodes of this Italian-language show on Netflix from July 26.

In one of the more dramatic teasers this week, we get our first look at Athena, a flick about three siblings and the death of their younger brother. That’s all we get from the synopsis, but the trailer does suggest the movie will take place in a world on the brink of the apocalypse. Expect more reveals ahead of the movie’s debut in September.

Keep Breathing

Liv is both extremely lucky and unlucky. For one, she survives a plane crash. On the other side of the coin, she’s now completely alone in the middle of the Canadian wastelands and no one knows that she’s out there. The show largely centers on Liv’s desire to survive, which looks like a pretty daunting task. Catch Melissa Barrera in the starring role from July 28 on Netflix.

Thirteen Lives

This Ron Howard flick tells the story of 12 boys and their soccer team coach trapped in a cave after a freak flood walls off their escape. The movie primarily focuses on the rescue team and stars Colin Farrell, Viggo Mortensen, and Joel Edgerton. If you don’t have Amazon Prime Video, you may be able to catch it in theaters from July 29. Thirteen Lives comes to Prime Video on August 5.

Harley Quinn

After taking down Batman and the Joker, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy return for season three and back in Gotham. The trailer provides glimpses of the couple’s new entourage, including King Shark, Frank the Plant, and Clayface. The likes of Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, and Tony Hale return as voice actors. Catch season 3 on HBO Max from July 28.

Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) painstakingly pieces her memories back together after suffering a head injury. But she can’t get to grips with what she does remember and whether that is the truth. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Stephan James also star in the show. Catch it on Apple TV Plus from July 29.
